CUPERTINO is located in the southern end of the San Francisco Bay. It borders San Jose and Santa Clara to the east, Saratoga to the south, and Sunnyvale and Los Altos to the north. According to the 2010 census, the population was at 58,302.

With its high cost of living in part to high-quality schooling, safety of the town, and its central location within the Silicon Valley, it is considered one of the most desired suburbs to live in. Cupertino has grown rapidly over the years as it is home to Apple Inc.’s corporate headquarters and a portal to other high-tech firms including Hewlett Packard and Seagate, as well as thousands of startup companies. The highly anticipated projects of Main Street and The Hills at VaLlco will be the heart of a new emerging downtown for Cupertino as it sits just down the street from the new Apple Campus 2.

The city of Cupertino further boasts some of the best schools in the nation. As of 2013, John F. Kennedy Middle School is the best school in the state. Monta Vista High School is ranked number 23 out of all the public schools in the nation, while Lynbrook and Cupertino High School are distinguished as some of the highest achieving public schools in the nation with many students attending Ivy League and other top institutions.
